You can still find IFA diviners not only in owo, ile-ife and Ibadan but also in faraway Brazil, USA and the Caribbeans!

Unfortunately, the purveyors of shariah in Nigeria today are notable Yoruba Muslims such as Ishaq Akintola. Why push for a barbaric legal system when the traditional legal system in Yoruba land was perfect?

Shariah allows for chopping off the limbs of people who steal while Yoruba laws mostly pardoned and rehabilitated people who stole food, provided they could prove their acts was due to hunger. As a matter of fact, criminals were not only pardoned but the village contributed yam seeds to help the criminal establish himself in the coming planting season!

Why are Africans always acting like their heritage is taboo and dangerous while accepting barbaric foreign ones?

Note also that Yoruba used here is colloquial for various ethnicities within the Southwest region of Nigeria and ‘criminal’ as contextualised by anglophones wasn’t a part of Yoruboid vocabulary, it’s a loose translation.
