Timi Frank To Oyegun: Latest Romance With Saraki Won’t Save You

…Take a bow and go

The Acting National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi Frank, has expressed thanks to God over the acceptance of crisis in the party by it National Chairman Chief John odigie-Oyegun, asking him (Oyegun) to further take another step and resign “because the latest romance with Senate President Bukola Saraki is a campaign after election.”

Oyegun had invited Bukola Saraki to APC National Secretariat on Wednesday for the first time since his emergence as Senate President after 18 months.

At the meeting the National Chairman agreed that some of the first steps taken by his leadership created problems going on in the party today.

Reacting in a statement signed in Abuja on Thursday, Timi Frank, said “it is a shame for Chief Oyegun to go back to his vommit having been used to create some of these confusions earlier which are now beyond his capacity to redeem.

“This is a National Chairman who did everything possible to ensure that Bukola Saraki, who is now a rally point and Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Yakubu Dogara did not emerge their positions when some of us believe in them.

“Again, God has vindicated me over most of these crisis I have been talking about that Chief Oyegun refused to admit as at that early stage but finally he has agreed but it is too late for him.

“It is clear that most of these crisis he personally responsible for, require a new competent hand to heal the wounds before it is too late for the party.

“Instead of inviting Saraki for a romance, why can’t the National Chairman call for a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting where all the leaders will sit at a round table and tell themselves the thrut. The year is going to an end and Chief Oyegun does not see leadership meeting as important.

“It is bitter but I must say it that practically all the decisions taken under Oyegun are illegal because majority of our national leaders are not carried along as it is stated in the constitution of the party to hold regularly leadership meeting where decisions are meant to be taken.

“So, I believe that this party urgently need a new National Chairman that will set up a strong reconciliation committee to correct all the abnormalities Oyegun did to APC.

“Until this is done, the ongoing re-alignment which I warned my party about might take advantage of the current crisis in APC and weaken it ahead of future elections.”

Frank, however, called on the Senate President to be careful “and watch his back in the latest moves so as not to loose confidence of some Nigerians and party members who believed in him when the likes of Oyegun did not.”

Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna of Sokoto

Guess who was behind Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto, acting as his aide-de-camp (ADC)?

That person was Brigadier Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi (as he then was), then the Military Attaché at Nigeria’s High Commission in London.  This photo was taken on Tuesday, July 17, 1962, as Sardauna inspected a Guard of Honour comprised of Nigerian cadets at the Mons Officer Cadet School. Three and a half years later, in the early hours of January 15, 1966, the Sardauna was murdered by Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu, and the next day, Major General Aguiyi-Ironsi became Military Head of State ...
