Man arrested after beating his 10-year-old son to death in Ogun State

Rasak Adekoya, 37, has been arrested for allegedly beating his son, Wariz Adekoya, 10, to death. He was apprehended by policemen at Ago-Iwoye after residents reported him for severely beating Wariz.

He was said to have descended on the boy on the allegation he stole from him. It was gathered that Rasak always assaulted the boy, a scenario that infuriated his neighbours.  Old and new scars were seen throughout the deceased. The Ogun State police command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Wariz’s corpse has been deposited in the motuary.

Rasak has been transfered to the Homicide Part of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Eleweran, for further investigation. When investigation is concluded, he is likely to be arraigned in court.
