Philosophy & Personal Development: We are all mortals…

phi
“We are all mortals; we do not live for ever, but the written or spoken effective and valuable word lives for ever. If you want to be result oriented with what you say; say less. Say only what is essential, and say things that the human reason and purpose alone demands when it is needed. This brings the contentment of saying fewer things, but say them well. Since most of what we say is completely redundant, if you follow the philosophy of saying less, but saying it well, you will have more time and less trouble communicating the more important things. So on every occasion ask yourself, ‘Is what I am saying really necessary?’ In that way, you remove not only the unnecessary talk but also the thoughts that precede them, for without excessive thoughts there would be no superfluous words or superfluous talk”.
