Two blasts have been reported for at ‘American Airlines’ check-in desk area at Zaventem airplane terminal in Brussels. Pictures on online networking from the scene indicated smoke ascending from one of the terminal buildings. The Belgian telecaster RTBF cited a witness as saying there were individuals injured or oblivious in the flight zone, opposite the Sheraton lodging.
The impacts come four days after the capture in Brussels of Salah Abdeslam, the principle suspect in the Paris assaults in November.
Belgian media say the air terminal is being emptied. It has been shut to flights. Rail transport to the facility has been stopped.
