  1. Dropping A Penny Can Kill Someone

Perhaps this myth began as a way to stop people from throwing things of tall buildings like the Cocoa House but it has now become a commonly spouted scientific fact. It claims that a penny thrown from a great height will reach speeds high enough to kill anyone it hits. The circular shape of the coin and its light weight mean that it can only achieve a terminal velocity of 65 mph. While this might hurt, it is certainly not enough force to cause any serious damage.
