The excuse of misogynists in West Africa ?

The excuse of misogynists in West Africa is that men used to fight wars to defend women so that should give men authority over the woman.  This here is Yaa Asantewaa on her military apparel.
She led the “Ashanti rebellion of the golden stool” against British colonialism. This was when the male chiefs were timid and refused fighting the British, she stood up gave this speech and stormed out of the meeting of timid Chiefs, grabbed her rifle and went to defend the integrity of Ashanti empire.
“Now, I see that some of you fear to go forward to fight for our king. If it was in the brave days of Osei Tutu, Okomfo Anokye, and Opoku Ware I, chiefs would not sit down to see their king to be taken away without firing a shot. No European could have dared speak to chiefs of Asante in the way the governor spoke to you this morning. Is it true that the bravery of Asante is no more? I cannot believe it. It cannot be! I must say this: if you, the men of Asante, will not go forward, then we will. We, the women, will. I shall call upon my fellow women. We will fight! We will fight till the last of us falls in the battlefields.” ~(Yaa Asantewaa, 1900)
African women have been in this hustle since day one. Islam and Christianity eroded the important role of females in societal development and defence.

But true decolonisation is a question of land, sovereignty and self-determination. Today, three countries in Africa – Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger – have taken revolutionary steps towards achieving just that. They have booted out Western troops stationed on their territories and torn up exploitative contracts with multinationals. Now the trio is pushing ahead with building nuclear power plants, ...
