Shocking – How did AbdulRasheed Akanbi become an Oba?

“The suffering confronting Nigerians was as a result of idol worshipping allegedly practised by many monarchs in the country. The President of Nigeria, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari should invite all monarchs in the country to a meeting and urge them to renounce idol worshipping”.
These were the statements, among many, of the Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi, in the Punch newspaper published on 8th July 2016. Oloye Olakunle Oligbinde, Awise of Ijo Orunmila Ato who had sent a letter to the newspaper just notified me yesterday.

1. How did AbdulRasheed Akanbi become an Oba?
2. Was there any Ifa divination?
3. Was there any ‘Ipebi’ or any other ritual ceremony?

I think the Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye, Ooni of Ife and other Obas(Alase ekeji Orisa i.e the custodians of African heritage) who are embracing our Isese( traditional religion), he ignorantly called idol worshipping should call him to order.
Stay blessed.

  1. You dont go around a problem to solve it. Who is a fool, I bow down to worship something I can see that is a creation of Olodumare while you greet and worship Allah that you can not see five times a day in a way forced upon you by a mad man and rapist?, then you attack people who dont? I think who is a fool is obvious. Idol worshipping and deification of everything must be encouraged. We must go back to our orisas, irunmales and Eeguns to be at peace with Olodumare and Earth. We should worship idols not insult them. That is our theology given us by Olodumare. If we refuse, of course there are consequences.

  2. Baba you can now see why tugs invade palaces and kidnap Obas because they no longer practice the religion passed on to them by their fathers, when our fathers were practicing and worshing Olodumare through the Orishas and Irumoles could anyone think of entering the palace of an Oba to commit crime that person would no go back from where ever they came from, but today the reverse is the case. Please Baba you and many other respected Nigerians should please continue to tall like you just did.Aboru Aboye.

As for me sir, I worship any idol because I also wish to become an idol too. I wish to be worshiped just the way sango, Ogun , obatala, and others are being worshiped. Any monarch willing to be worshiped must worship ancestors too.
Enu re lo wa yen ti kii bi olowo ninu.

I am here to say that the said present Olu-iwo does not worth being an Oba. I owe him no apology at all. A traditional ruler who abhors tradition does not deserve being eulogise. For a borrowed religion to have brainwashed him is a disgrace on the institution of Obaship.

    • Omotayo Amire

@ Jamiu Raji Rassaki my brother I agree with you totally, imagine one who is suppose to protect the traditional institution is the one castigating it,I stand to be corrected it is only the traditional religion that dose not discriminate other religion a traditionalist will accommodate others in his house but they will never accept you as a Tennant in their house.

    • Jamiu Raji Rassaki

Omotayo Amire You are absolutely correct sir

  11. much ado about nothing! ’emir’ of iwo has no place among the ‘oloja merindinlogun’ that exist in yoruba tradition. let us leave ‘elenu’ alone. “ko maa min lori asan”

Toxic U.S. Pestering Nigeria To Go GMO

Another day, another revelation about how the US will not let African nations determine their policies. A new investigative report reveals how activists against pesticides and GMOs in Nigeria are being smeared with the help of dollars stumped up by Washington – much to the delight of US agrochemical giants such as the health-scandal-embroiled Monsanto. Having been at the receiving end of a US State Department smear campaign ourselves, we can only relate too well to what the activists targeted ...
