This majestic allegorical float, a viral sensation during the parade, featured Yemoja (Iemanjá) Yemoja was powerfully incorporated because the enredo “Malunga Léa – Rapsódia de uma Deusa Negra” was a heartfelt tribute to the late legendary Brazilian actress Léa Garcia (1930–2023).

A pioneering African icon in theater, film, and TV (famous for roles like in Escrava Isaura and her work with Teatro Experimental do Negro). The theme celebrated her as a “deusa negra” (“Black” Goddess): her resilience, ancestral strength, female empowerment, and trailblazing representation of Afro-Brazilian identity.
