Police fire several gunshots, arrest Mercy Aigbe in Osun State

Prevalent Nollywood performing artist, Mercy Aigbe Gentry, had a brush with men of the Osun State police command around 4.30pm today.

She and her driver were captured at Olaiya intersection in Osogbo, the Osun State capital for purportedly showing a police cap on her auto’s dash board, pulling in the police attention. Another report claims it was her driver was using the telephone while driving.

As indicated by different reports, when she was stopped, she was requested to step out of her auto so her vehicle could be searched.

Her presence allegedly pulled in a substantial group who accumulated and needed to know why she was being arrested. An unmistakably furious Mercy was seen making calls on her telephone which was later seized, according to a report by Vanguard

At the point when the huge crowd turned out to be too much, the policemen fired a few shots in the air and whisked Mercy and her driver away. Her driver was taken away in a police van while another cop was said to have driven Mercy in her Honda auto.

Confirming the occurrence, an Assistant Police Public Relations Officer, Ajibade Egbedele, said, it was only a minor traffic issue and that the matter has been settled.
