Ori, Esu and Okan: the difficult alignment. (Must read)

Freud established the value of Unconscious mind as independent and separate mechanism. So far, we know that human beings have a more recent, modern cortical logic mind (anatomically neocortex) and a more ancient cortical and subcortical Unconscious mind (paleo cortex). Generally speaking unconscious mind is anatomically located in the right cerebral emisphere, while the conscious logic mind is located in the left cerebral emisphere (at least for right handed people). This is an obvious gross generalization as there may be a wider diffusion of cerebral areas that manage conscious and unconscious reasoning. However, the right and left emispheres are linked through a thick median layer of withe matter that is called “corpus callosus” (from latin language where corpus is for body and callosus is for extremely hard, thick). This median part is able to connect the two different sides of the brain in order to attempt some kind of integration between the two different minds.

This kind of communication between the right and the left brain is almost impossible in the ordinary state of consciousness when we are aroused by the several external and internal sensory and emotional inputs that are on the background of our modern style of life (from an EEG point of view this is expressed as high frequency (14 to 50 Hz) beta waves). That integration and communication may become much easier in meditation states when there is the development of slow waves, called Teta and delta (4 to 7 and 0 to 4 Hz respectively). The theta level opens the door to fall down even deeper into the psychic/astral world. At this level, one is able to experience astral travel and psychic communication, achieve enlightenment, and enter into other dimensions.

What is not commonly said is that delta and teta waves mainly belong to the realm of Unconscious mind, so the paleo mind, at least as elaborated stages of a primal impulse that comes from other layers of our mind (as we can see later on in this discussion). The paleo mind is the an ancient part from the evolutionary point of view that developed before the neocortex. The neocortes developed over the paleocortex during the evolution of human beings. So it is inside the Unconscious we may find the resources for many experiences that characterize the world of Divination (development of mesocosmic personality) or the experiences of possession.
