The Nigerian military has said it is yet to affirm the speculation over a capture of Boko Haram kingpin famously known as Bashir Sarkin Yanka, which, in Hausa, implies Bashir the King of Slaughter and who had been going about as Abubakar Shekau in a few recordings on the online networking.
Local security volunteer group known as Civilian JTF in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State asserted that it had captured the infamous Boko Haram kingpin.
The captured suspect was reported to have admitted to the Civilian JTF that he had gone about as Boko Haram terrrorist head honcho , Shekau, in a few recordings and was in charge of the demise of his (Bashir’s) mother, two sisters and sibling apart from taking part in mass slaughter.
In any case, representative of Operation Lafiya Dole in the North-East, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, said the military couldn’t affirm the capture of the Shekau’s on-screen character yet.
He said the military had managed its counter-uprising operations where a few terrorists had been disposed of and others caught in the North-East.
