The 38th Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Omo n’Oba n’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Erediauwa I, is has passed on. He passed on Friday evening at the ripe old age of 93. His demise was declared couple of minutes back by the Iyase of Benin Kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe. The late ruler had been fighting an obscure sickness since a year ago. He succeeded his dad, Oba Akenzua on 23 March 1979 and effectively lead till a year ago when he fell sick.
