Tells President Mahama to concede
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it’s on the way to win the 2016 general election and wants President John Mahama to concede ahead of the formal declaration of the outcome by the Electoral Commission.
A written report today by Ghana’s leading daily The Graphic quoted the National Campaign Manager of NPP, Mr Peter Mac Manu, as urged President Mahama to concede defeat because his party has built-up an unassailable lead.
It quoted him as saying that per the party’s “parallel” counting of results from polling station pink sheets, Nana Addo has amassed 54% out of 80% of the votes counted so far.
“He said Nana has secured 4.6 million votes while incumbent President John Mahama has 3.694 million votes,” the report said, adding that Manu also said that NPP was on the way to amass more parliamentary seats than the ruling NDC, calling the development a “tsunami”.
