Justice Danladi Umar of the Code of Conduct Tribunal has requested that a bench warrant ought to be issued on the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, for neglecting to seem to answer charges verging on assets declaration.
Senate President Bukola Saraki’s trial for claimed bogus assertion of his assest when he was legislative head of Kwara State has started at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The Prosecution Counsel, Mr. Muslim Hassan, requested that the tribunal issue a seat warrant against Saraki for neglecting to show up before it.
Hassan blamed the Federal High Court for allowing the ex parte moton stopping Saraki’s arraignment. He contended that the Federal High Court had coordinate jurisdiction with the tribunal and as being what is indicated, had no power to halt trial of the Tribunal.
The Defense Counsel, Mr. Joseph Daudu, be that as it may, begged the tribunal to adjourn the case until after the Federal High Court sitting on Monday. Meanwhile, the Chairman tribunal, Mr. Umar Danladi, adjourned the case till 1.30pm for a ecision to be taken.
