Shelby, who died at age 89 in 2012, always planned for the CSX 2000 to be sold 1 day with the proceeds planning to the Carroll Shelby Foundation that helps fund research into childhood illnesses. It seems that day has finally come.
Some would argue that this really is the main car in American history. If Shelby never created the initial Cobra, there could have never been a Shelby American or even a GT40, nevermind all of the models which have followed since.
The first-ever Shelby Cobra will soon be auctioned on August 19, 2016 and it will soon be something to watch on, especially when it becomes probably the most expensive car ever sold at an auction.
