My boyfriend detests his mum, should I be scared ?

My beau’s parent parted way 15 years back and as indicated by him, his mother left him and his sibling with their father who alongside his new wife abused them so much and all through the years, his mother did not come searching for them. Since he is now grown up, he says he will never forgive his mother and can’t spend his dime on her and would not like to try and set eyes on her. I think forgiveness is a virtue. Should I be frightened and run off in light of the fact that I fear such a man who can’t pardon his own mother might never overlook me too on the off chance that I do anything wrong to him.
