Cold War: Obama signs Ukraine Freedom Support Act – White House

As per a White House press release, US President Barack Obama has signed the Ukraine Freedom Support Act, giving deadly military support to Ukraine and forcing extra sanctions on Russia.

WASHINGTON, December 18 (Ooduarere) — US President Barack Obama has signed the Ukraine Freedom Support Act, a White House press discharge said Thursday.

“On Thursday, December 18, 2014, the President signed into law H.R. 5859, the “Ukraine Freedom Support Act of 2014,” which contains sanctions provisions on various Russian persons and entities and military and non-military assistance authorities for Ukraine,” the discharge said.

The Ukraine Freedom Support Act has passed in both assemblies of US Congress a week ago.

The bill approves the procurement of deadly support and help in vitality and resistance divisions, and also common society to the Ukrainian government and the forcing of another round of financial sanctions against Russia.

The United States, the European Union and various different nations have effectively presented a few rounds of sanctions against Russia, targeting its banking, energy and defense sectors, over Moscow’s affirmed association in the Ukrainian crisis. Russia has more than once denied the allegations.
