A Federal High court sitting in Lagos today discharged & acquitted ex-Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode of 38 out of the 40 corrected tally charge of government evasion brought against him by the EFCC in 2008.
Conveying her judgment, the directing judge, Justice Rita Ofili Ajumogobia, said that EFCC had not given any confirmation that demonstrated that the ex-minister had in any case laundered cash through invented business exchanges. As indicated by her, the indictment had fizzled woefully in demonstrating that he was blame in all the 38 count charge brought as a detriment to him.
She went further to say that all the witnesses gave by the arraignment since the trial began had not given any confirmation to demonstrate that the ex-Minister had any business dealings with them.
Therefore she released and cleared him of 38 check charges however taught him to enter a resistance against the two other charges. The case was adjourned till December eighth.
