Three more trim levels will then join the lineup for 2017, bringing the base cost down to $34,990. Each of the three of the lower trims will accompany a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 197 horsepower.

The lower base value puts the Envision in accordance with its main rivals, the Acura RDX, Lincoln MKC, Infiniti QX50 and Lexus NX.

This hybrid will be the main item that GM imports to the U.S. from China. In the Chinese market, the Envision has been extremely effective, moving around 150,000 units in 2015.
