Troops avert another suicide attack In Maiduguri (Photo)

Troops of 7 Division Garrison based in Maiduguri, in conjunction with Civilian JTF turned away yet another suicide assault on the pure natives in Borno State on Friday.  The troops caught two female suicide bomber at around 1.20am Friday morning, about 100 meters south of Umurari town, outskirts of Maiduguri.

In any case, one of the suicide bomber on locating the fighters exploded her explosive device, right away killing herself, while the second bomber trying to escape was gunned around by one of the Garrison expert sharpshooters.

The joined group of Nigeria Police and Nigerian Army’s Explosive Ordinance Device group securely exploded the unexploded Improvised Explosive Devices strapped on the suicide bomber that was gunned down.  Armed force representative, Sani Usman who unveiled this in an announcement, said there was no casualty beyond the two suicide bombers.

“Presently, the troops and the Civilian JTF deployed in the village are now combing the general area to forestall further breach of security,” he said.

“The situation in the area is calm and law abiding citizens are going about their normal activities without fear.”
