Performing Actress, Bukky Wright,has lost her bid to contest for the House of Representatives on the stage of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Ogun State part.
The performing artist lost to Joseph Sopade, a previous helper of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, who surrendered to join the Social Democratic Party, SDP. Ms. Wright and Mr. Sopade were vying for SDP ticket for the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency of Ogun State.
The 59-year-old politician was first elected in 2020 to represent the Ompundja constituency, receiving 85% of the popular vote. Adolf Hitler Uunona represents the left-wing – and formerly communist – South West Africa People’s Organisation (SWAPO), which has ruled Namibia since the country gained its independence from South Africa in 1990.
