Hafsat Abiola founded and coordinates an association called the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy, KIND, named for her mom, which looks to advance and fortify democracy system in Nigeria. Her dad, who had won Nigeria’s first presidential decision in 10 years, was detained by the military before he could take office, and kicked the bucket in jail.
Her mom, Kudirat Abiola, another popular democracy advocate, was killed a couple of years later in the streets of Lagos.
