Cross River To Be Designated A Staple Crops Processing Zone


In accordance with FG’s Agricultural transformation agenda, the Federal Government is situated to proclaim Cross River State as a Staple Crops Processing Zone (SCPZ).

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Akinwumi Adesina uncovered this to columnists in the wake of visiting parts of the 26,000 hectares of PZ-Wilmar oil palm estates in Calaro, Ibiae, Kwa Falls and Eyop, from where the two multinational organizations have shaped an oil palm retrogressive integration joint venture investment worth $650 million.

Adesina said the essentialness of the SCPZ is that the Ministries of Water, Works, Transport and Agriculture will fabricate foundation that will empower the creation and clearing of produce from the state to the business sectors.

He included President Jonathan’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda backed Cross River’s the business farming activity as of late endorsed by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
