Orisa Oranmiya

The staff of the Orisa Oranmiyan shown below would indicate that some of the Orisa in human form were giants walking the land.

Oranmiyan was the son of Oduduwa who founded Oyo is my understanding. Can students and scholars add some history please? Thank you in advance!
