The younger generation came fully charged at the Ondo Ògún Festival 2026 — bold, energetic and deeply connected to the spirit of the celebration. With hunter-inspired appearances, ceremonial displays and the symbolism of iron strongly present, the streets became a powerful showcase of courage, tradition and youthful cultural pride. What stands out most is the confidence of these young people embracing heritage in their own generation.
Ancient spirit. Young energy. Living tradition.

For the past 2 days, Ondo City has been agog with the celebrations of the annual Ogun Festival. Every year, the festival seems to get bigger, more colourful and even more exciting than the previous year. Yesterday, Rybenna was even in the city to thrill the people. The Festival continues today.
On the 2nd of September, it showed us the truth: Real love was on display.
We celebrated as one. No class! No level! Just Ondo people.
People gathered not as Christians, Muslims, or traditionalists but as one blood, one land, one heritage.
This festival reminds us that there is more love in our cultural heritage than in the divisions religion has brought to Africa. For too long, religion has separated brothers from sisters, neighbors from neighbors, and made us forget our roots. But our culture never forgot us.
Ogun teaches us strength, truth, justice, and unity. Values that don’t belong to one religion. They belong to all of us. Let love lead. Let culture speak. Let Ondo rise. Let this Ondo Ogun Festival 2026 be a time to return to love, to return to culture, to return to each other.
Our culture unites us. Our heritage heals us.
