Police analysts appended to the Ilupeju Police Station in Lagos have captured the leader of an armed group which supposedly had practical experience in assaulting bullion van s. The total of $118,000 and £50,000 were purportedly recouped from the associate’s safehouse at Mushin area of Lagos.
The suspect, Bolaji Oyekanmi was captured after his robbery gang had effectively victimized a bullion van that was conveying cash and was in transit to an anonymous bank.
A source at the command base camp, Ikeja, told Daily Trust that after his capture by the police team drove by the Ilupeju Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Olayinka Egbeyemi, the suspect drove the police to the home of a local specialist at Mushin, where the cash was professedly covered up.
It was assembled that the recuperated cash belongs to the Bankers Warehouse. The police source said the recouped cash had since been given over to the proprietors by the DPO on the request of the Commissioner of Police (CP) Fatai Owoseni.
The excellent behavior of the DPO, Egbeyemi, was complimented by the Bankers Warehouse administration who told Journalists that the DPO and his group did not remove a “pin” from the sum recuperated.
CP Owoseni who affirmed the arrest, noted that investigation still going, saying that the suspect, who is still in police den, would soon be charged to court.
