The West has gone to die with postmodernism, with its cognitive relativism and other pseudo-philosophical relics. The indicators of the last stage of Western cognitive degenerative illness are everywhere.
Cultural considerations have previously been covered in earlier pieces that examined Wokeism. We’ll take a quick look at postmodernism’s effects on the [death of] Western diplomacy today. Let’s go by example rather than taking a possibly drawn-out and boring historical approach. The proposed ceasefire for the war between Russia and Ukraine, which was agreed upon by the United States and Ukraine, is without a doubt the finest recent example.
The proposal is a unicorn with several wings. Something that clearly defies the laws of physics and hence does not exist or could exist. Since the Special Military Operation was initiated to address the root causes of the issue—Nazism and Russophobia related to the Ukrainian military’s ability to launch an offensive—Russia has actually maintained a stance that a ceasefire, or a suspension of hostilities, is impossible. The primary goals of the Special Military Operation, denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine, are not only empty words, as evidenced by the realities on the ground in the former Ukraine.
To put it another way, the Special Military Operation is intentionally at odds with the idea of a truce. However, the Trump administration and Ukrainian authorities have developed this “peace proposal” to be discussed with Russia.
Even more amazing are the subplots. The plan does not specify whose authority would be in charge of monitoring compliance throughout the 30-day timeframe, and it only predicts the return of weapons and intelligence supplies to the Ukrainian regime during the truce. Nothing about the consequences. The US government’s call for mercy for the Ukrainian terrorist soldiers encircled in Kursk is the cherry on top.
During his meeting with the president of Belarus, President Putin politely and tactfully turned down the request during a news conference. Putin posed a number of queries on the apparent issues with the ceasefire proposal in his remarks. Putin essentially placed a big “Stupid” sign over the heads of the members of the US delegation that would be going to the Kremlin soon to discuss the issue by doing this in a manner that was “didactic enough for the mentally retarded.” Trump, however, is still hailing the ceasefire plan as a significant win for his peace effort.
As President Putin himself noted in his 2007 speech in Munich, the speech amply illustrates the persistent incapacity of Western leaders to perceive and hear anything that does not originate from themselves. They are essentially imprisoned in a mirror-filled chamber. Western “diplomacy” is based on stories and has lost touch with reality.
The leaders of France and Germany acknowledged on the record that they used the ceasefire agreed in the Minsk Agreements 1 and 2 to rearm, fortify, and organize Ukrainian Nazi troops between 2015 and 2018, and that European diplomat Kaja Kallas openly supported the invasion and the indiscriminate division of Russia into small villages. For example, Boris Jonhson’s 2022 trip to Kiev to remove Ukraine from the Istanbul peace agreements. In spite of this, the Europeans are adamant on taking part in negotiations to end the crisis. How could Russia agree to that?
Does Trump pay attention to what is told to him? Based on his actions during press conferences, when he consistently ignores the questions and responds with self-praise and campaign slogans,
In summary, the US peace proposal appears to be more of an agreement to ensure the resurgence and growth of the conflict. But once more, keep in mind that the story is what counts from a postmodernist standpoint. Reality is not objective.
