“Martin Ayomide. I am beginning to settle with the conclusion that Nigeria and the majority of African countries can not just make the grade, and are unfit to attain the level of reasonable development we see other countries attaining in the world. All you need to do is to look at all the brain power and good insightful people we have, but to transmute and translate this “BIG BRAIN POWER” into laudable real development deeds seems to be a big problem for the “AFRICAN”.
A case in hand is this Diezani woman and so many other Nigerians looting and laundering 100s of billions of dollars and pounds of public money to the detriment of the poor desperate public, as if these people; these “so called leaders” are really insane!! This type of attitude of impunity and stealing of public funds is across the board; in the judiciary, in politics, in the police force, in business, in religious institutions and even in the bigger and wider society.
What could really be our problem?? Could it be the case that we are psychologically impaired and destined not to want to develop?? When I read the conclusions of prominent Historians and Philosophers of the 17th and 18 centuries like Immanuel Kant, David Hume, Voltaire, Edward Long, and just about 100 years ago, our love and hate Lord Lugard, on the inability of the “AFRICAN” to develop and do good for his society, I cringe at what they were writing some 100 – 300 years ago, ringing very true even today.
What could really be wrong with us??”
