Emir of Kano, Sanusi II To Emerge UNIBEN Chancellor

The administration of the University of Benin, Edo State, on Monday said that the university has concluded arrangements to install the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, as the ninth Chancellor ‎of the institution.

‎The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faraday Orunmwense, who declared this at a press preparation in Benin, noted that the previous Central Bank of Nigeria governor would be formally introduced on November 25, 2015, amid the university’s 41st Convocation and 45th Founders’ Day function.

Orunmwense clarified that out of an aggregate of 11,020 graduands, 64 would be met with a First Class degree, while 7,034 persons would graduate with different classes of first degrees on November 26 and 27, with a convocation lecture to be conveyed by a previous Minister of Power, Professor Barth Nnaji.

Likewise to be recompensed are 382 and 2,212 doctorate and masters’s degrees, while the establishment will present honorary degress on the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, and a constant gynecologist, Professor Osato Giwa, on November 28.

‎The Vice-Chancellor, who attributed the accomplishments of the college to the backing of the Federal Government and the commitment of the management, staff and understudies of the institution, said the five-day function would start with an interdenominational service on Monday
