The Ministry of Health has defamed reports of another instance of Ebola in Calabar Cross Rivers, attesting that Nigeria is Ebola free. There was an Ebola scare in Nigeria yesterday October eighth after a man kicked the bucket of hemorrhagic fever seven hours after he was quarantined on Wednesday October seventh, making the specialists suspect it could be another instance of Ebola and promptly isolated 10 individuals including medical caretakers who treated the dead patient and other individual who had contact with him.
At a question and answer session in Calabar last evening, the permanent secretary of the service of Health, Linus Awute said test did on the dead specimen , tested negative to Ebola and Lassa fever.
“After the tests, it is very clear it has nothing to do with Ebola or Lassa fever. Results confirmed that the deceased was negative of Ebola virus and Lassa fever. The ministry of health states that Nigeria remains Ebola free.” he said
