Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu Responded To Nato Accusations

Amid the on-going military escalation in Ukraine, there are more claims and demands from all sides involved in the conflict. While the Kiev’s “Team” constantly accuses Russia in deploying its troops near the Ukrainian border, Moscow continues its large-scale exercises all over the country’s territory. On April 13, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu spoke out in response to all the threats and accusations from his Western opponents.

On April 13, in a news conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg once again expressed the alliance’s “unwavering” support for Russia’s neighbor.

“Russia must end this military build-up in and around Ukraine, stop its provocations and deescalate immediately,” he added.

In its turn, Kiev continuously asks for membership in NATO, with no result yet. However, Ukrainian officials went further and have recently proclaimed more demands to their Western partners. On April 12, the President’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, asked for US Patriots to be deployed on Ukrainian territory.

“Ukraine is holding the line against Russia, not just for us, but for the West,” he tells TIME. “And where does the U.S. deploy its Patriot Missiles? The closest ones are in Poland. They should be here.” – Time newspaper reported.

Russian Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu reminded that this spring, the joint armed forces of NATO launched “Defender Europe – 2021.” In response to the Alliance’s military activities threatening Russia, it has taken appropriate measures.

NATO will concentrate 40 thousand troops and 15 thousand units of weapons and military equipment, including Strategic Air Force, near the borders of Russia, mainly in the Black Sea region and the Baltic Sea.

In Russia, the check of the Russian troops combat readiness in the Western and Southern military Districts was carried out.

Within three weeks, two armies and three units of the Airborne forces were successfully transferred to the western borders of the Russian Federation in the areas of combat exercises. The troops showed their readiness to perform tasks to ensure the country’s military security.

The exercises should be completed within two weeks.

Shoigu also noticed that American troops are being transferred from the US to Europe across the Atlantic Ocean.

“In Poland and the Baltic States, the US forces are being strengthened, the American military concept of “four by thirty” has been adopted and implemented, compared to last year, the intensity of aerial reconnaissance has been doubled and the intensity of naval reconnaissance activities has been increased.”

Every year in Europe, the alliance conducts up to 40 major operational trainings. European exercises are mainly aimed to counter Russian activities. Today, the largest NATO drills in the last 30 years are taking place near еру Russian borders. Taking into account the nonsense of NATO demands to explain the deployment of Russian forces on its own territory, Crimean MP asked the collective West to explain its military presence at the borders of Russia.
