Pic: Gold digging defectors

I am alarmed at the gale of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, so soon after the elections. No sooner had the results been declared, than the political “hejira” began.

Elsewhere, losers of elections always return to the drawing board to re-strategise. But, here, it is a situation of peculiar mess, apologies to the late Ibadan flamboyant politician, Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu. Now, is it enough reason to jump the boat on losing an election?

I am relieved that this deluge is being stemmed by the APC, the beneficiary of the epidemic. Wherever they may head, the defectors are fair weather friends and gold diggers, as have been graciously described. Many others have also recanted their earlier held position. Prominent among them is Buruji Kashamu, a senator-elect. Belatedly, he has realised that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is a role model! The latter has rejected the Greek gift!
