The German MIG-29 prepares to take off with German Maj. Gassner and CINCUSAFE, Gen. Robert C. Oaks. Since the end of the Cold War, armed forces from the east and west are meeting to further understand and strengthen friendships. Such a visit occurred when a MIG-29 from the former East Germany landed and hosted a flight for Gen. Oaks. Gen. Oaks returned the favor by giving the German pilot a F-16 ride.
