All Oodua (Yoruba) people must make an annual pilgrimage to The Òke Mògún, the most central shrine in Ile Ife. It is located near the Ọònirìṣà’s Palace.
An outdoor temple, it is a sacred spot that was without any walls, when I was a child growing up in Ile Ife.
It has now been walled to keep away non-believers from desecrating the sanctity of the environment. – Prof. Moyo Okediji
