Tems perform at South Africa’s newly opened Dome

On March 20, 2025, Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage name Tems, made history by becoming the first performer to play at The Dome in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
With a captivating performance that left fans in amazement, the Grammy-winning artist brought her eagerly awaited Born in the Wild tour to South Africa.

Celebrated for her distinctive blend of neo-soul, R&B, and Afrobeats, Tems captivated the crowded room with her unmistakable sound as she hit the stage. Her performance of “Burning,” a song from her first album that has been making waves throughout the world, was one of the night’s highlights.

The audience enthusiastically sang along to the song, which was nominated for Best R&B Song at the 67th Grammy Awards, creating a memorable atmosphere.

Fans, on the other hand, welcomed the atmosphere with all of their Naija passion, and the performance became a midweek festival. This was Tems’ first big concert in South Africa, supported by Big Concerts, despite though she had already played there in 2022 at an invite-only event.
The Dome, which debuted in January 2025, was the ideal venue for Tems’ very personal songs. Finally, a night of strong singing and engrossing soundscapes was presented to the fans.
