Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has thrown his weight behind United States of America on the killing of senior Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani.
Netanyahu who spoke on the airport tarmac in Greece after cutting short a trip abroad to fly back to Israel on Friday said that the slain Soleimani is responsible for the death of many American citizens and many other innocent people and was even planning more attacks on innocent people.
He further said that the United States had the right to defend itself by killing the Iranian top commander.
“Just as Israel has the right of self-defense, the United States has exactly the same right,” Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office.
“President Trump deserves all the credit for acting swiftly, forcefully and decisively. Israel stands with the United States in its just struggle for peace, security and self-defense,” he added.
