#Decolonization: “Neither Niger nor Delta is an African name”- Maduka C Ogwueleka.

I wonder why true African sons and daughters are proud to be addressed as such? There is also nothing known as South-South in geography. It’s like saying NN, EE or WW. How funny does that sound?

Names like Enugu, Katsina, Sokoto, Kwara, Anambra, IMO, Abia, Ebonyi, Osun etc are proper African names which identifies who you are.

But those who ‘proudly’ bear Niger, Nigeria, Rivers, Port Harcourt, Delta, LAGOS etc in a true black African state are those who are yet to emancipate themselves from mental slavery.

I don’t know of any city, town or village in Britain, Russia, Austria, France, Ireland, Canada, Australia, USA or Germany that bears a black African name. If you know, please educate my ignorance.
