9 Mistakes Most (Nigerian) Car Owners Make

Not Having Basic Tools

This goes submit hand with learning how to accomplish simple maintenance and repair yourself .There are some pair of tools you need to will have, a port is one, wheel spanners etc.As funny because it sounds , some individuals don’t have these. You may get your entire tools and more inside our auto shop.

Not Buckling Your Kids Up

That is rather sad and extremely dangerous. To compound the entire issue, I have experienced parents allow their kids play in the leading seat without having to be buckled up. Please make certain children are buckled up properly.

Adults Need To Buckle Up Too

It has been repeated so much that individuals start feeling like they’re being “forced” to wear seat belts. It’s for the safety. Kindly hook them up to always, and properly too.

Disobeying Speed Limits And Traffic Signs
Most  drivers turn a blind eye to speed limit signs, sometimes school/children crossing signs are ignored too !.They’re there to safeguard you and other road users. Respecting them would take a short while of your own time, disrespecting them usually takes your whole life away, or someone else’s life. Be safe.

Disobeying Traffic Lights

I’d to separate your lives this from the last point. That is one of the  common violation/mistake, specially when the trail is “free” and there’s no traffic officer in sight. I was once knocked down by way of a Keke(Tricycle) in Mushin one evening, because I trusted the traffic light and the drivers, I didn’t notice it coming. Thankfully, it  was just a couple bruises , it might have been worse. Kindly obey the traffic light always.

Using The Wrong Type Of Oil

Most manuals nowadays indicate the sort of oil you must use.Stop trusting Kamoru the mechanic’s suggestion on which oil to use. To a lot of them, “oil na oil “, they can’t even see the labels(I don’t mean to be condescending, but its true).Use the best oil for your vehicle !.

Using Wrong/Expired Tyres

A good number of car owners still don’t realize that tyres expire the same as your milk or drugs .The proven fact that its shining and the threads are intact doesn’t mean it’s good to go. Some tyres aren’t even designed for this climate, they’re built for snow and cold environments. News flash!, its indicated on your body of the tyre. You’ll need to begin paying more awareness of your safety folks !.Yes, Mr Femi, I’m talking about  you ?

The Sahel Revolution: Real Decolonisation!

People throw about the term ‘decolonisation’ left, right and centre. University campuses say they’re decolonising curriculums, and corporations – the workplace. Today, three countries in Africa – Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger – have taken revolutionary steps towards achieving just that. They have booted out Western troops stationed on their territories and torn up exploitative contracts with multinationals. Now the trio is pushing ahead with building nuclear power plants, ...
