Nigeria’s Islamic radical agitators Boko Haram are attempting to expand their violent crusade across nation including Lagos, the nation biggest city, an intelligence authority said Sunday.
There has been a sudden influx of Boko Haram agents into Lagos and different parts of Nigeria outside the aggressors’ main area in northeastern Nigeria, said Tony Opuiyo, representative of the Department of State Services. He said Boko Haram is attempting to expand their compass in the wake of being pushed out of the urban centers of northeastern Nigeria lately.
Security offices had captured 14 Boko Haram suspects in Lagos, the capital Abuja and different parts of the nation outside the northeast in the past two months, said Opuiyo. Those captured include cell pioneers, some of whom admitted to involvement in recent suicide assaults, he said.
