Adverse Drug Reaction: Girl who reacted to Septrin, last month, dies .

14-year-old Amina Ibrahim complained of cold and cough on the 26th of May, 2016, and her mom took her to a chemist in their area at Dala LGA of Kano State, where they bought the septrin. Later in the evening, she took the drug and within an hour, her lips and tongue got swollen and her eyes became red. .

She was later taken to Mohammed Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital in Kano State, where she died of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome ( SJS ), a rare, serious disorder of skin and mucous membranes that is usually a reaction to a medication or an infection.
