The Oba of Benin Palace is the most prestigious site in Benin. The Oba of Benin Palace is one of the top places to see when you visit Benin. It is one of the most famous Royal Houses in the whole of Africa. The Oba Palace was built by Oba Ewedo (1255AD – 1280AD).

Furthermore, the palace of the Oba of Benin is very famous. The palace, built by King Ewedo, is located in the heart of the ancient city of Benin. In addition, it was rebuilt by Emperor Ewe II when the first palace was destroyed during the 1897 war with the British. The Benin palace houses the traditional ruling house and seat of authority of Benin.
