…says APC has moral burden to pursue change

Previous national chair­man of the All Pro­gressives Grand Alli­ance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, yesterday portrayed the 16 years guideline of the Peo­ples Democratic Party, PDP, as the worst in the history of Nigeria’s democracy.

Umeh, who tended to columnists in Enugu follow­ing his victory at the Court of Appeal in Enugu, said: “What PDP did to Nigeria in 16 years is the greatest dis­service to democracy.”

It would be reviewed that the Appeal Court had on Monday invalidated Senator Uche Ekwunife’s election by virtue of Umeh’s request. The court requested a re-run within 90 days.

The APGA chieftain guaranteed that however he won the decision, PDP manipulat­ed the process with impuni­ty and utilized the Independent National Electoral Com­mission, INEC, to announce Ekwunife the winner.

While deriding PDP over its grievances on the result of the Kogi gov­ernorship outcome, Umeh said: “Though the All Progres­sives Congress has not been brutal as PDP was, PDP’s members are now weeping.

Furthermore, we are exceptionally hopeful; this time around, the votes of the general population will count. There will be no god-mother, god-father and the utilization of presidential might to stifle the will of the general population.
