Another building collapses in Lagos killing 1 person & others injured

Disaster struck again in Lagos yesterday, when a building at No 9, Alli Close, Mile 12, partially collapsed and killed a 47-year-old lady with other occupants injured, According to an observer, a part of the balcony in the building had collapsed, however the inhabitants of the building refused to abandon the place.

Mr. Michael Akindele, General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, said preliminary investigation confirmed the demise of the lady, and that no other deadly setback was recorded.

He included that the inhabitants of the 18-room-building had been emptied and the site sealed off. The proprietor of the building has been summoned to the state Secretariat, Alausa Ikeja for questioning.
