2 Married Men Arrested by the Police In Lagos For Fighting In Public Over Women

The police have arrested two married men, Mr. Sunday Onwe, 44 and Victor Obodozie, 45, who reportedly engaged in a public fight over women in Lagos. The incident happened at Abuna Street in Ejigbo, in the outskirts of Lagos where they resided.

It was gathered that the married men were arrested by the police at Ejigbo Division for affray after they fought publicly over a disagreement on women.

However, it was not yet confirmed if it was their wives that caused the fight or mistresses but the residents said the fight started after they had exchange of words over women.

Some of the residents revealed to Ooduarere.com claimed that they were fighting shamelessly in the public before one of the residents contacted the police for their unruly action. It was gathered that the fight was still going on between them by the time the police got to the scene and arrested them.

The two married men were charged for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace by engaging in public fight and were brought before Ejigbo Magistrates court.

They pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector G Simon did not oppose their bail condition but asked the court to give a short adjournment for their trial.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. LKJ Layeni granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 4 July, 2018.
