Anambra State Commissioner for Women And Children’s Affairs Rescues Two Teenage Girls Being Maltreated By Their Guardian
In line with her resolve and determination to end child abuse in Anambra State, the State’s Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, on Saturday, 4th June, 2020, at Awka, intervened in a case of maltreatment and malicious bodily harm, rescued two teenage girls from their abusive guardian, who subjected them to torture, starvation and maltreatment.
The Honourable Commissioner was at B Division of Nigeria police, Awka, where the case was lodged to rescue the girls, Chikamso (12 years old) from Ebonyi State and Chinasa (14 years old) from Anaku, Anambra state respectively.
The teenagers were subsequently empowered and handed over to their relatives for proper care and continuation of their education which was previously denied them by their guardian, Mrs Odili Goodness.
