Unvaccinated corps members barred from NYSC camps

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has barred unvaccinated corps members from its camps nationwide.

NYSC director-general Shuaibu Ibrahim made the announcement while addressing 2021 Batch “C” Stream Two Corps Members and Camp Officials.

Ibrahim said the measure will take effect from the next orientation camp, which is a few weeks from now, DailyTrust reports.

The DG said prospective corps members will now need to show evidence of vaccination from coronavirus before they would be allowed to register.

According to him, the scheme was trying to be careful not to allow the spread of the disease owing to the detection of the Omicron COVID variant in the country.
