The police in Lagos have captured a 32-year-old lady, Janet Effiong, for purportedly planning with a suspected thief to assault a taxi driver, who was professedly her ex-partner and who had undermined her.

Metro learnt that Effiong was captured alongside a theft suspect, Femi Talabi, who helped her to complete the operation. They were captured on Airport Road, close Ajao Estate, in the Isolo region of Lagos on Saturday, February 7, at around 7.30pm by policemen connected to the Rapid Response Squad.

They were from there on exchanged to the state Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja. Our reporter learnt that Effiong, who runs a restaurant in the VGC region of Lekki, had employed Talabi, who was one of her supporters, for N20,000 to assault her ex-darling, recognized as Murphy.

Talabi had purportedly consented to get two more men, and had gathered N10, 000 as installment from Effiong. It was learnt that upon the arrival of the incident, Talabi supposedly reached Murphy, who worked as a taxi driver, to take him to Ajao Estate, with the plan of carrying out the assault out and about.

It was, on the other hand, gathered that when Talabi drew out a toy gun to undermine his victimized person, the RRS policemen swooped on the two men and got Talabi captured.

Effiong, who hailed from Uruan, Akwa Ibom State, said she contracted Talabi to deal with her ex on the grounds that Murphy constrained her to prematurely end her pregnancy on two events and later dumped her for other ladies.
