Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr says the resignation of Libya’s coach may make the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier more difficult for his team.
Rohr told TheCable that no matter the circumstances, the match against the Mediterranean Knights won’t be a walk in the park for his side.
“It will not be an easy game because they change the coach. Sometimes, it’s more difficult especially when a new coach is coming because everybody wants to show what they can do,” Rohr said.
“Libya’s coach resignation does not change anything. We have seen the team’s video.
“The coach can change but they still have the assistants and they are still the same team.
“They had a good game against South Africa. They played very well in the qualifiers. In Tunisia they had a draw and I think in South Africa they could win the game. They have very good players.
“So, we are preparing our game against and we know that they have a very good defensive organization and they play good counter-attacks also, but we are happy to play in Uyo on this pitch.
“We lost our first game against South Africa which means we have to win and there’s no doubt we have to go out to win the game, but we have to be careful because they are strong on the counter attacks.”
