Man arrested for drowning his 3-year-old stepbrother

Ogobuchi Ogbonna, 25, was yesterday, remanded in prison custody for causing the death of Wisdom Ogbonna Amagu , 3, in Abakaliki, Eboni State, on September, 9, 2016. He allegedly tied a stone to Wisdom’s waist and threw him into a stream at Ndievor-Nchoko, Igbeagu community in Izzi LGA.

Ogobuchi confessed to the crime. Wisdom’s father, Amagu Ogbonna, said: “Ogobuchi told us that he is the one that killed Wisdom. We asked him why he killed his brother and he said a spirit directed him to do that.”

 

He noted that Ogobuchi was hale and hearty and had no history of mental problem, which has put the family at a loss as to why he committed the crime. He has been arraigned on a one-count charge of unlawfully causing the death of Wilson.
